Mentors

I feel very strongly that it is important to have mentors (role models) in life. These mentors can be individuals that you pay to work with, they can be family or friends,  they can be celebrities or they can even be historical figures that are no longer with us.

A mentor should be someone that inspires, motivates, intrigues, challenges, guides, and educates us.

This is a major key to a full life for anyone as there is so much value in learning from others as we walk our own path in life. I love the quote that “A smart person learns from their mistakes and a brilliant person learns from the mistakes of others.”

Finding a mentor can be as easy as investing time into looking to see who is living a life that you would wish to emulate. Whether you wish to live that life now or you aspire to one day live that life you should do everything you can to begin to emulate your mentor and then do even more to convince them to work with you.

When it comes to mentors, for me personally, I am truly inspired by anyone who is authentic to their core, living their life unapologetically, with a true sense of what they want and how to navigate their day to day.

My mentors inspire me in my life, and in my business. They inspire my health and my wealth.  They inspire me to be even more free when it comes to creativity and a few of them have inspired me to write this journal.

As we look to build out your life’s recipe it is key for us to identify who we are surrounding ourselves with. As we look to get the absolute most of this gift that is life we need to be stingy with our time and invest as much as we can into our own growth.

Oh and it is worth mentioning, I met my first mentor in the back of a surf shop on Vancouver Island in 2016. You never know where these mentors will show up for you, but when they do, come armed with some deep questions and probably a pen and some paper.
